Bring California Home Campaign Seeks to Move Sacramento Lawmakers to Action
Looking ahead to 2021, LAHSA has joined with the City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, the Corporation for Supportive Housing, Housing California, and many more to support the Bring California Home campaign. This campaign is seeking action at the state level to provide ongoing support for local responses to homelessness through the creation of at least $2.4 billion in annual funding to address homelessness.
New programs providing one-time funding such as the Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) program from the state are providing critical resources to house our neighbors. But California needs robust, ongoing funding from the state to make up for decades of underinvestment in affordable housing and homeless services. Bring California Home would create an ongoing funding program, while also creating needed accountability mechanisms to ensure local jurisdictions invest in evidence-based best practices that work.
