New Dates for the 2020 Census Service Based Enumeration

In response to COVID-19, the U.S. Census Bureau has rescheduled the Service Based Enumeration to September 22-24, 2020. During this time, the Census Bureau will be enumerating individuals and households experiencing homelessness at locations where they may be receiving services, as well as encampments and other non-sheltered locations.

If you are an interim housing provider or provide meal services, you may be contacted by local Census staff in the coming weeks to schedule a site visit for the Service Based Enumeration. Interim housing providers will also have the option to submit paper-based responses in lieu of an on-site visit. For more information on the Service Based Enumeration and the 2020 Census, please visit our earlier post here and Homebase’s Census Resource page.

Please note that people experiencing homelessness can also complete a 2020 Census questionnaire online and by phone.  For more information on participating without a permanent address, please click here. The last day to complete the 2020 Census is September 30, 2020.

Thank you for your partnership in helping ensure a full and complete count of our communities.
