The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) is introducing a new voting model called the Voting Solutions for All People (VSAP), set to roll out by the next Presidential Primary Election on March 3, 2020. The VSAP is designed to meet the needs and expand voting accessibility for all people, especially hard-to-reach populations including people experiencing homelessness, seniors, people with disabilities, and incarcerated voters.
The VSAP differs from the standard voting process by offering Flex Vote Centers throughout the County over an 11-day voting period, allowing voting at any location regardless of where the voter works or lives, and using an updated Ballot Marking Device that provides ballots in 13 different languages as well as audio. The switch to a Flex Vote Center provides a unique opportunity for shelters, access centers, provider offices, and other community-based venues to host vote centers and increase accessibility for residents experiencing homelessness and other hard-to-reach populations.
