Centralized Training Academy Registration Information
May 10, 2018
As a result of the historic passage of Measure H in Los Angeles County to combat homelessness, training has never been more essential.
The Centralized Training Academy will act as a Countywide training resource that will provide consistent access to training opportunities in a number of areas relevant to staff working in the homeless services industry.
Training offerings through the CTA will focus on enhancing knowledge in the following areas:
• Direct Service Provision
• Program Implementation
• CES Guidance
• HMIS (coming August 2018)
The CTA will be hosted via an online Learning Management System (LMS). All staff will need to create an account to be able to register for training sessions, download webinars, and access educational materials.
Sessions beginning in July 2018 will be registered through LAHSA. Registrations will be available June 1, 2018. To register, please create an account here: https://lahsa.configio.com
Please be sure to bookmark the site and check back frequently, as training offerings will continuously evolve.
For any questions or assistance with creating an account, please feel free to email Capacitybuilding@lahsa.org for additional support.
Additionally, Homeless Health Care Los Angeles (HHCLA) is excited and honored to take part in LAHSA’s Centralized Training Academy initiative to train entry level, mid-level and supervisory staff in the homeless services sector. This initiative is truly unique as there are very few training programs in Los Angeles County that cater specifically to staff in homeless services, and no training programs that offer a sequential, three tiered curriculum designed for staff of all levels within the sector.
This initiative offers the added benefit of taking a field-based approach to training, wherein HHCLA trainers travel to all 8 Service Planning Areas (SPA) in LA county to educate homeless services staff on topics, resources, evidence-based practices and care coordination relevant to the homeless residents of their communities.
