Clarity Goes Live

Thank you all for your patience! The LAHSA team is excited to announce that Clarity HMIS is live as of 6/1! You are now able to log on and get a feel for the new system. All of our support and data teams are on standby for any assistance or support you need while you navigate the system. When you’re logged into Clarity, you will see the HUD standard data for all the clients and programs that were entered prior to 5/1. In the coming weeks, we will continue to amend client records with custom data.
Since the beginning of this year, we have asked for your input at various forums and venues, and we have incorporated many of your ideas and feedback into the configuration of the system. We hope that with this new system, you feel more comfortable navigating HMIS and have the tools you need to do your work efficiently and effectively.
The LAHSA team has lined up more enhancements for Clarity HMIS to incorporate your input. Please join us at the next User Forum (first on the Clarity HMIS!) on 6/13 to let us know what you think of the new system and to get more information about the upcoming updates to Clarity.
Below contains important information pertaining to your account on Clarity HMIS.
HOW DO I LOG ON TO CLARITY HMIS?
If you have attended training during the 5/1 to 5/19 training period, your account is live now.
To get onto Clarity:
Go to the Clarity HMIS login page at https://la.clarityhs.com/ or click on the Clarity Human Services link from the LAHSA HMIS page here: https://www.lahsa.org/hmis/
Click on Forgot Password?
Enter the same email you used to register for training through our website.
Check I’m not a robot checkbox and complete the authentication if prompted.
Click on Reset Password to receive a reset password email.
Go to your email and click on link to Reset your password. The password reset link is only valid for 60 minutes.
The link will direct you to the Login page where you will enter your new password. Your new password must meet the following criteria:
6 characters or longer in length.
Contain characters from the four following categories:
English uppercase characters (A to Z)
English lowercase characters (a to z)
Numerals (0 through 9)
Non-alphabetic characters (such as, !, $, #, %)
A password cannot contain username, take on the word ‘clarity,’ or be the same one as before.
Click on Save.
You may now access Clarity HMIS! In the Login page, enter your email address with your newly created password.
I DID NOT ATTEND A TRAINING IN MAY. WHAT DO I DO?
If you were unable to attend a training in May, please visit our training website to register for the next available online or instructor-led training. Once you attend the training, please give our HMIS team 3-5 business days to set up your account. You will receive an email with the above instructions to log on when the account is available.
I DO NOT SEE ALL OF THE DATA I ENTERED BEFORE 5/1. HOW CAN I SEE IT?
You should have access to all of the HUD standard data as of 6/1. The LAHSA team is continuing to validate the custom data for upload to Clarity HMIS in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, LAHSA is providing view-only access to our previous Adsystech HMIS for pulling reports and the information that was entered in there as of 5/1. You should be able to log in using your old Adsystech HMIS credentials here: https://lahsahmis.esserver.com/
Until all of the custom data is uploaded to Clarity, the old Adsystech Legacy HMIS ID will be searchable via the main search page through the Alias field. A report will be available soon that maps the new Clarity HMIS ID to the old Adsystech Legacy HMIS ID.
You can still enter custom data starting 6/1, but historical data will continue to be imported and added to client records. Those custom data include:
CES for Families “SCAP” enrollments
LA-specific entry and exit questions
Uploaded files (including client photos)
MY ORGANIZATION HAS DATA THAT WE’VE BEEN TRACKING USING THE FORMS AND TOOLS LAHSA PROVIDED DURING THE OFFLINE/BLACKOUT PERIOD. HOW CAN I ARRANGE SUPPORT FOR DATA ENTRY?
We sent out a separate email regarding data entry support on 5/30.
As we all transition to Clarity HMIS, we want to make sure our community has the support it needs to catch up on the backlog of data entry from the offline period. LAHSA is committed to providing that support to ensure that May data are entered into Clarity for service coordination and reporting.
To help coordinate this effort, we ask that each organization that requires data entry assistance have their executive/program director/manager send an email to HMISSupport@lahsa.org to provide the HMIS team with some details regarding the necessary level of support. Below are the details we’re looking for:
Number of expected assessments/intake forms/packets to be entered
Address of Central Location that the packets are stored
Number of Services and Notes that are tracked in the logging tool provided
Specific groups of providers (such as SSVF and CES Leads) will receive a separate email with additional guidance.
Please let us know if you have questions or are in need of data entry support by 6/2 to ensure timely coordination at HMISSupport@lahsa.org.
WHAT ABOUT REPORTS?
All HUD-standard reports such as APR, HMIS Data Quality Report and other roster style reports are available immediately as of 6/1.
Other LAHSA custom reports, such as the Data Integrity Report, Occupancy Report, and QPR, are under development in the new Clarity HMIS and will be rolled out in the coming months.
We’re also gathering report needs across organizations and their appropriate representatives for access to “Looker”, the new ad-hoc/on-the-fly reporting tool and Looker training will start in July.
