LAHSA’s Data Quality Monitoring Plan (DQMP) ensures HMIS data is accurate, reliable, and actionable so providers and policymakers can understand needs, track progress, and improve outcomes. The DQMP sets clear principles, standards, and processes for consistent data stewardship and continuous improvement across the data lifecycle. High-quality data also strengthens system-wide decisions across Los Angeles County by helping us:

• Identify trends
• Allocate funding appropriately
• Evaluate program performance
• Meet local and federal reporting requirements

Management View on LAHSA's Leadership Dashboard Now Available: 

The Management View is a new tab within LAHSA's existing Leadership Data Quality Dashboard in Tableau. Designed for agency leadership, supervisors, and managers, this new view provides enhanced visibility into staff-level data quality performance, enabling managers to identify trends, proactively address data quality issues, support ongoing staff coaching, and strengthen operational oversight.

Users can filter data by agency and program, monitor High Priority and General Errors, and drill down into impacted records and data elements. The Management View empowers agencies to strengthen data quality practices, improve performance related to LAHSA's Data Quality Monitoring Plan (DQMP), and promote accountability across teams.

Each month, we’ll highlight a specific data element or common issue areas, along with actionable steps you can take to ensure the data in HMIS reflects the great work you’re doing across the system.

Data Quality Monitoring Plan Resources:

1. Data Quality Monitoring Plan (DQMP): Establishes LAHSA’s expectations and approach for maintaining high-quality HMIS data, including roles, responsibilities, monitoring processes, and steps for addressing data quality issues.

2. User-Level Data Quality Dashboard: ​​​​​Helps HMIS users, Data Leads, supervisors, and program staff identify and resolve client-level data quality issues.The dashboard is located directly in HMIS under Reports > Data Analysis > Los Angeles System Clarity Reports > User Level Data Quality Dashboard.

3. User Level Data Quality Dashboard Guide: Provides guidance for understanding and resolving errors and warnings identified on the User-Level Dashboard, including why an issue is flagged and recommended steps for correction.

4. Data Quality Leadership/Management Dashboard: Provides agency leaders, program managers, and Data Leads with a high-level view of data quality performance to monitor scores, identify trends, compare programs, and target areas for improvement.

   • Tableau Access Required: To view the Leadership Dashboard, users must have access to LAHSA’s Tableau environment. If you are unable to access the dashboard, you may need to request Tableau access.
