Coordinating Council

Background

The Los Angeles Homeless Continuum of Care (LA CoC) Coordinating Council was established in 2009 by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) to enhance and empower local community participation in the grant process for McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act funding throughout the Los Angeles CoC. Prior to the establishment of the Coordinating Council, the McKinney Vento award process was overseen by Housing Authorities and LAHSA with limited participation and input.
