Due to rapid growth in the homeless services industry, the need to quickly assess hiring needs and recruit qualified professionals is critical to the successful implementation of all programs.

One-on-One Support

LAHSA offers one-on-one support to assist with hiring and recruitment. Our comprehensive service consists of three strategic phases designed to ensure successful placement and retention:

  1. Assess the hiring needs of Providers operating within the LA County Coordinated Entry System and LA Continuum of Care
  2. Source qualified professionals to fill the vacant positions
  3. Evaluate retention rates of newly hired staff over 6 months

Sourcing Strategy Summary

The recruitment team provides a comprehensive approach to source candidates through multiple channels:

  1. LinkedIn and Professional Networks: Used as marketing tools to target candidates for positions requiring significant previous experience and/or advanced degrees.
  2. ZipRecruiter Job Board: Utilized for sourcing mid-level professionals seeking new opportunities, with targeted marketing capabilities based on experience and job titles, plus Applicant Tracking System (ATS) functionality.
  3. Job Fairs: Organized for quick, high-volume sourcing and on-the-spot interviewing of candidates for positions that don't require previous field experience or advanced degrees.

Sourcing Process

Our streamlined process ensures efficient candidate matching and provider satisfaction:

  1. Job Description Submission: Providers send job descriptions and compensation range for each available position.
  2. Advertisement Posting: Recruiters post job advertisements on job boards, portals, and social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  3. Resume Screening: Recruiters screen applicant resumes and create a list of 3-5 qualified candidates per position.
  4. Candidate Review: Recruiters send the candidate list to the Provider for review.
  5. Feedback Collection: The provider sends feedback on candidate quality to recruiters within 48 hours.
