Commissioners Larry L. Adamson |

A native Angelino, Larry Adamson is the President and Chief Administrative Officer of The Midnight Mission Corporation, one of the premier social service agencies serving the homeless and addictive population of Southern California. Prior to accepting his current position in May 1998, Larry was employed 23 years for the Automobile Club of Southern California were he was Vice President of Administration. Larry is a graduate of Venice High School and California State University, Los Angeles here he holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. He currently serves as a director on several Boards of Directors including The Masonic Homes Board of California where he serves a Chairman of its Finance Committee and is President of the Board of Los Angeles Central Area Providers Collaborative. He has also served as Vice Chairman of the Board of ACSC Federal Credit Union and on the Foundation for California State University, Los Angeles. For over 10 years, Larry served on the Board of Directors of the CSULA Alumni Association where he as President in 1996. In 1998 he was honored as the University Alumni of Merit. In 1996 he joined the CSU Alumni Council, an organization the represent the Alumni Associations of the 23-campus, Calif. State University system, where he served two terms as it's President from 1998 to 2000. The 1998 he was honored as the systems "Outstanding Alumni". In 2005, Larry was confirmed as a Trustee of the California State University System. In December, 2004, Larry was appointed by Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich to serve as Commissioner for the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, where he serves as Vice Chairman. Larry has been honored by the City of Los Angeles, County of LA, State and Federal governments for his work in addressing homeless policy and practices. In late 2006, he was honored with the George Washington Honor Medal for his work by the Freedom's Foundation at Valley Forge. Larry is active in several community and social organization. He is the past President of Downtown LA Morning Rotary Club and is currently District Chair of Urban Emphasis for the Boy Scouts of American, Los Angeles Area Council. Larry lives with his wife of 33 years, Lynn in Newhall California and they have two adult children and one grandchild. |
