In December of 1993, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and
the Mayor and City Council of Los Angeles created the Los Angeles
Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA).
LAHSA provides funding and guidance for a network of local,
non-profit agencies with missions to help people leave homelessness
permanently. These agencies are dedicated to providing as much
assistance as possible to help homeless persons with housing, case
management, counseling, advocacy, substance abuse programs, and other
specialized services.
LAHSA also strives to educate the public and the media on key issues
related to homelessness through its updates, strategic plan,
Continuum of Care narrative, faxed information releases, planning
workshops, and presentations.
Our Mission
Statement
LAHSA's
Mission is "to support, create and sustain solutions to homelessness in Los
Angeles County by providing leadership, advocacy, planning, and
management of program funding."
